• We do our Technology at Ysgol Llanddulas through an on-going 4 year long series of adventures / challenges in the style of Indiana Jones. The adventures form an on-going story about the finding and stealing / rescuing of the world's last dinosaur and dinosaur egg.

• Each term we have a technology challenge. Our teacher sets a challenge for us like get across a river that is 1 metre wide which was this term's challenge.

• It's not us but some lego adventurers and a plastic dinosaur called REX who actually risk their lives or atoms.

• We were split into 5 groups. Over the weeks we had to design our inventions and to make a detailed drawing of the machines.   

• At the beginning of the two days that we had been given we had 10 pounds ( not real money of course) to spend on equipment. Some of the groups did not have any money at the end of the challenge.

• Our teacher pretended to be a supplier called Greedy Gus and a boy on work experience was called Honest John. We could buy advice and equipment from Greedy Gus but at the same time random disasters like arson attacks and wood worm were hampering our best efforts while the angry cannibals closed in. The 2 PCs in the room had constantly changing screensavers carrying the latest news from Reuters like this:

• We constantly had to keep an eye out for the news and decide how to react to it while still trying to build our design...STRESSFUL or WHAT?!
